“Inks Flows” was part of “Participate” by A3ProjectSpace studio holders. I used botanical ink making to explore ideas of community and participation.

Covid-19 and lock-down reshaped where the project was delivered, participant numbers and ideas of community and participation within a socially distant world. Due to social distancing a virtual workshop was offered alongside face2face workshops. However, in person workshops at my wild allotment were more popular and more effective in building a community of interest.

The process of foraging ingredients and making ink at my allotment framed conversations about human, other-than-human and environmental wellbeing, reflecting the socially distant world we were inhabiting at the time.
